Designed software and hardware to assist in the completion of two SBIR phase 1 grants, in addition to several b2b contracts. Designed, manufactured, and tested multiple PCB designs, implemented firmware for embedded solutions.Utilized python, java, and c++ to develop custom avionics.Managed an engineering subteam of 3, utilizing agile sprints to accomplish waterfall objectives.

Assisted in creating embedded system hardware and software for data aggregation of thermal image data for fire mapping applications. Worked in python to communicate with FLiR Lepton modules over SPI and I2C. Parsed GPS NMEA packets in java and used predictive models to interpolate between data points. Designed and manufactured 3D printed housings for sensing prototypes in Solidworks.

Focused on development of the Smart Helmet project with the goal of reducing traumatic brain injury through active control of absorbing “bladders” utilizing embedded sensors and electronics. Published in IEEE IROS for 3D magnetic sensing work. Currently leading development of the next generation embedded controllers, including firmware development, circuit and PCB design, and data processing. Created cybersecurity policy for company workflow to gain NIST 800-191 and DFARs compliance. Proposed a company-wide system architecture for networking, workstations, and physical security.
