Collected field data on three hillsides with varying slope characteristics and land-cover types, and used a factor analysis to draw conclusions about the relative magnitude of processes affecting heat fluxes along the transects under different categories of synoptic-scale weather pattern. Applied this knowledge to develop and validate two tailored regional forecast methods for overnight low temperatures. -
Research InternGeophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory Jun 2013 - Aug 2013Princeton, NjAnalyzed the effect of polar-amplified versus uniform climate-change scenarios on distributions of zonally averaged mid-latitude extreme daily precipitation in general-circulation models, and proposed a conceptual framework centered around changes in local surface temperature to explain the patterns. Presented results orally at 2013 Hollings Scholarship colloquium and at 2014 American Meteorological Society Annual Meeting.
