In South Africa, I joined Actom (formerly Alstom) in 2005, where I completed my National Diploma in Electrical Engineering. I was involved in factory acceptance testing of high voltage protection schemes. I then gained experience in the testing of medium voltage switchgear. On-site modifications to existing protection schemes was also part of my experience.In 2010 I joined Test-A-Relay, a high voltage testing and commissioning company. I gained further skills and experience in factory and site acceptance testing. Further to this, I gained experience in maintenance programs within the utilities and mining sector, working on primary and secondary systems. I obtained a new set of skills in the planning, scheduling and designing of various protection schemes. I was involved with the design, testing and commissioning of newly constructed substations in City Power's network.In April 2017, I relocated to Australia and joined Megavar, continuing with testing and commissioning of medium to high voltage equipment. I have gained valuable experience in the use of Omicron's primary and secondary testing equipment. I have worked on various Tasnetworks projects, as well as Ausnet zone sub upgrades and Electranet substation upgrades. Maintenance programs on the mining, utilities and private sector throughout Tasmania have also been essential to me gaining various and different skill sets.
