I currently work as a data scientist and novice optical engineer in support of NASA missions regarding flight instrumentation.My PhD research at University of Rochester, CERN, and Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory focused on a novel Dark Matter signature called Semi-Visible Jets, and the paper published as a result of my research was the first public results of a search for this signature from any collider experiment. This research was done as part of the Compact Muon Solenoid collaboration, one of the particle detectors associated with the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in Geneva, Switzerland.I have a keen interest in table top role playing games (TTRPGs), woodworking, and baking. Playing TTRPGs and other board games trains me to understand complex systems quickly and explain the rules to others. Woodworking and baking both force me to practice patience, hone my attention to detail, and I've gained a deeper appreciation for the labor that goes into works of art from these activities.
