• Responsible for managing a portfolio of 4 live projects covering the Signalling LNW South portfolio with an outturn of circa £37m for 2015/16 and combined AFC’s of £200m +.• Currently managing the W’ton Re-signalling project (Grip 7), Grip 3-6 stages, of the 3 phases of B’ham New St Re-signalling which is due to commission in Dec 18.• Take a leading role in establishing strategies for the management and resolution of legal and/or commercial disputes and ensure they are reported as necessary via the claims management process.• Negotiated the contractual and legal documentation for a £9m claim and incorporated as major variation to the existing Contract. In addition engaged legal support on key legal issues.• Developed and deployed a robust commercial strategy for the management and control of the LNW signalling portfolio including effective pre and post contract project cost • Established a robust procurement programme for all schemes including suitable contractors/consultants to support the Network Rail procurement Gateway process as appropriate.• Prepare tender documents, lead the ITT & agree contracts prior to issue, to the requirements of Network Rail C&P practice and procedure.• Responsible for reviewing and confirming the accuracy of all the periodic and adhoc reports. Presenting reports at MBR along with Identify programme slippage, emerging problems with the Project Managers. • Manage the establishment of appropriate controls and audit regimes to achieve adherence to Network Rail's procedures and in particular to the requirements of Network Rail C&P practice and procedure.• Responsible for managing a small team of Commercial Managers and developing commercial apprentices. * Promoting Network Rail and Commercial careers within local schools.

• Managed 4 Term contracts for civil’s & cable works in the Midlands & Southern Region with an annual turnover of £1.75m.• Managed a small team of QS’s on a £60.0m Telecom's Network Build project between Lands End & London.• Provided reports & forecasts for the project management team on Period Contracts & all Network Build Contracts for the Midlands & South region.• Provide contractual advice to the project management team on Civil’s & Cable contracts.• Collate & reconcile monthly CAPEX reports for the project management team utilising the SAP finance/accounting System.• Assessing & resolving legacy contractual claims.• Developed databases for producing monthly cost reports, logging of payment to contractors & producing cost & progress reports.• Develop & document process for the departmental QMS.

• Formed my own business as QS working mainly for groundwork Contractors and private housing developments.• Marketed and developed my business from scratch.• Prepared BofQ’s and schedules for roads and sewers and house foundation tenders for housing development projects.• Prepared monthly valuations and final accounts for groundwork Contractors.

• Left College at 18 and trained as a Site Engineer with Alfred McApline for 2½ years.• Moved to a Curtain Walling company as a Junior Quantity Surveyor for 1½ years.• Then Worked for Wimpey Homes as a Junior Estimator for 1 year.• Worked for a small civils & building contractor in Nuneaton for 1 year as a Quantity Surveyor.• Moved to Groundwork’s contractor as a Quantity Surveyor for 2 years.
