Your investments will be held with NBCN Inc. and you will have online access to your accounts through their website. Statements, confirmations and tax slips will come from NBCN Inc. directly. However, unlike our previous working arrangement, we are not considered employees of National Bank or Aligned Capital Partners Inc., but independent advisors; thus eliminating corporate pressures that can adversely affect us and our clients; such as proprietary product goals and minimum client size policies. We are very excited to work with Aligned Capital Partners Inc. Headquartered in Burlington Ontario, they will be providing us with all our operational, compliance and finance support. They are a member of the Canadian Investor Protection Fund (www.cipf.ca) and are governed by the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (www.iiroc.ca). They will supervise the securities related activities we conduct on your behalf, as we are subject to stringent securities laws and regulations.

As the team’s lead financial planner, Colin specialized in creating written financial plans and working with clients to identify and obtain their personal financial goals. He is an expert at retirement planning and helps clients with estate planning, tax minimization strategies, trusts, education funding goals and asset protection techniques. He acts as a liaison between ScotiaMcLeod’s in-house experts as well as dealing with outside lawyers and accountants.
