Project And Change Manager: Science Transition

Disc, Biomedical Campus, Cambridge

Supporting the wider program for the occupation of the DISC our new AstraZeneca R&D centre on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. Described as one of the largest life science moves in the UK the project relocated over 2200 employees and installed 25,000 items of equipment. As a key member of this team I worked closely with the Director of Science Transition and I was accountable for the delivery of the occupation schedule. A delivery that was achieved through close working with internal and external resources. The overall occupation schedule lasted 9 months with science stopping for no longer than 4 weeks for each move. The project exited 7 separate science sites and science restarted in the DISC on time every time!

The key focus was the Safe and compliant handover of AstraZeneca assets to the landlord and the relocation of science teams to Cambridge. The challenges faced during this period included the emergence of COVID and implementation of safe working practices. The assets handed back to the landlord included office, science and FM blocks with the provision for shared services to remain in-situ for retained AZ real estate;

In the capacity of a Change Manager and as a key member of the Alderley Park and Northwest AZ Leadership Team I was part of a program working alongside Facilities Management and Real Estate planning.
