WebGain was a jointly funded venture between Warburg Pincus and BEA Systems. The objective of the company was to acquire existing Java EE /Java programming language development tools and roll them together into a single application development environment: WebGain studio. Webgain Studio was conceived as the development toolchain for BEA Weblogic Server – a competitor to IBM Websphere. In April 2000, WebGain acquired the company The Object People, and their TopLink product-line. Webgain also acquired Visual Café from Symantec. Additional funding came from HP and Intel.

IntelliCorp applications deliver automatic intelligent impact analysis of SAP systems and are SAP Integration Certified.I joined the company to lead the development of LiveModel for SAP to reduce the time, cost and complexity of deploying SAP R/3. Development staff were located in the San Francisco Bay Area, the UK and embedded at SAP's headquarters in Walldorf, Germany. I built a strategic relationship with Deloitte Consulting ICS and acquired key technology to add to the IntelliCorp portfolio.LiveModel for R/3 is a modeling tool that links the R/3 Reference Model directly to the SAP Implementation Guide (IMG). SAP implementation teams use the R/3 IMG as an on-line tool for performing customization of the R/3 System.

Originally a compiler back-end developer (AT&T WE32000, CCI VAX-compatible Power6, MIPS, HP PA (Spectrum), Sun SPARC, IBM Power PC, Thinking Machines) I founded the Silicon Valley team responsible for the UNIX-product line of IBM mainframe offload development tools and compilers and owned the technology relationships with EU, US and Japanese computer manufacturers that licensed our software.
