• Established and managed “Operation Firefly” bike light program which distributed lights and safety information to more than 14,000 people in Los Angeles County over the course of eight years.• Managed free bike education programming for the public under contract with Los Angeles Metro. Provided classes and free helmets for hundreds of Los Angeles County residents.• Organized and co-taught nine League Cycling Instructor seminars which trained more than 120 people to become certified instructors. Emphasis was on training more bilingual and female instructors.• Served as prime contractor for a pilot train-the-trainer program under the Los Angeles Department of Transportation that trained LAUSD middle school PE teachers how to teach bicycle safety during PE class.• Created LACBC’s “Bike Smart – Rules of the Road” pocket guide. Supervised the production and distribution of more than 100,000 copies.• Developed training manual and trained Ride Marshals for LACBC and local chapter rides as well as LACBC’s annual LA River Ride, the organization’s biggest annual fundraiser.

This was a grant funded position and was a collaborative project of LACBC, The City of Glendale, and the LA County Department of Public Health PLACE Program. I was embedded in the city's Public Works Department and our core team included city staff from the Parks, Public Works, and Planning departments.• Wrote and won adoption by Glendale City Council for the Safe & Healthy Streets Plan, a guiding policy document for active transportation projects in the city.• Planned and implemented the Maple Avenue Greenway project for south Glendale.• Developed the bicycle and pedestrian way-finding sign design and guidelines, which the City has continued to implement to this day. • Established Walk Bike Glendale, a local chapter of LACBC, to advocate for active transportation in Glendale.
