Music Teacher (Ll)
CurrentAs music co-ordinator in an excellent state secondary school. I am responsible for KS3 Music delivery and resources including guiding some wonderful non specialists. Alongside our deputy head teacher, we have run successful GCSE and A level music courses together for many years. At A level I tend to focus in particular on the composition and harmony units.Many Sponne students over recent years have successfully progressed on to music degrees in universities and conservatoires and beyond. Liasing with Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust staff assigned to our school to deliver instrumental/vocal lessons and to support our extracurricular programme. Developing various extracurricular music activities with a particular interest in an inclusive pops orchestra, jazz improvisation groups and our fantastic Sponne Jazz Orchestra including several performances at the National Festival of Music for Youth and other events. Over the years I have written many bespoke arrangements for these groups. Assisted in the organisation of school music trips to France, Belgium and the Netherlands.
