I provide enterprise-grade office telephone systems to businesses of all shapes and sizes. In 1997, after graduating from the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside with a BSc. (Hons) degree in Telecommunications and Business (2:1), I started work for Imecom Group providing electronic fax messaging systems to large multi-national companies. I worked mainly in London and Paris supporting clients all over Europe.During my time with Imecom, I trained as software engineer and founded my first company, Data Messaging Ltd (DML) in Macclesfield (2003). DML is a software house that specialised in developing Microsoft Windows based document messaging, document image processing and SMS text messaging server applications. In 2005, we moved our head office to Manchester city centre and opened a second office in Edinburgh. We needed a telephone system that would connect the two sites, allowing us to make free calls between our locations. We also needed calls to our Manchester number to be picked up by agents in Edinburgh when we were out of the office. Whilst researching the options that were open to us, I discovered Asterisk (www.asterisk.org) – an open source PBX server that promised to do what we wanted. In reality, Asterisk by far exceeded our expectations and I soon tapped into other open source projects that enhanced the solution further.I was so impressed with the telephone system that I had built that I wanted to spread the word to other SME’s and I launched my second company, Data Messaging & Communications Ltd (DMC), in 2006 to do just that.In 2008, as DMC continued to grow, I took the exam and became a Digium Certified Asterisk Professional (dCAP).DMC became a Digium Authorised Reseller in 2010 and we now have 5 Asterisk experts in the team with various specialisations (VoIP, Linux, PHP, Hardware, Security).Specialties: Telephone system design and installation, software design and architecture
