Full-stack geospatial developer in the GIS team embedded in the Agency of Natural Resources and Agency of Commerce and Community Development. I maintain several public-facing web mapping applications including the Natural Resources Atlas and the Vermont Archaeology Inventory Map. I design spatial SQL databases for collection, analysis, processing, and visualization of environmental data. I work to update Agency infrastructure through API construction and building React frontends to replace outdated web applications. I develop mobile data collection applications for field staff that allow for detailed collection of forestry information.

Primary geospatial scientist, modeler and cartographer at the Vermont Geological Survey. I construct statewide geologic datasets and have worked with other New England Geological Surveys to establish data standards that would allow for geologic data to be incorporated into local, regional, and national geologic models. I assisted in standardization of geologic map units, digital map making processes, and digital data integrity. I create and use models to improve understanding of Vermont's geology and water resources. I constructed a semi-supervised workflow in Python for improving water-well locations and analyzing lithologic logs for boreholes in the Vermont Well Database. This provided accurate locations for over 100,000 borehole with records of geologic materials, and allowed for automated classification of borehole lithology. I am also working to improve the accuracy of Vermont's Landslide Susceptibility Model to include newly available sub-meter resolution LiDAR and Land Cover datasets.

North Cascades National Park, Washington

Field geologist and primary GIS technician at North Cascades National Park. Worked with newly available LiDAR and soils data to map landforms and surficial units in Olympic National Park and identify possible geologic hazards. Calculated debris cone volumes for geologic hazard assessment study. Most field work was performed in remote backcountry areas on snow, ice, and steep terrain. Monitored water resources in the four major watersheds in the park through stream gauging and glacier monitoring. Reorganized and managed geospatial databases. Assisted in site setup and site checks for Natural Sounds and Night Skies acoustic monitoring. Performed weekly IMPROVE Air Quality monitoring and National Atmospheric Deposition Program sample collection.

Assisted in mapping bedrock and surficial geology in Vermont. Digitized new geologic data for publication and updated old maps to include revised data and newly available LiDAR data. Wrote Python scripts to process, reformat, and distribute statewide and local GIS data. Worked to develop maps and conceptual models for areas of PFOA groundwater contamination.
