Currently I am semi-retired and looking for interesting opportunities which can dovetail with my lifestyle. My main current role is as Chair of the Steering Committee to deliver the 125th anniversary celebrations at Portsmouth Football Club. This is a voluntary role. At present I am supporting the EFL around both safeguarding and inclusion training and I support Portsmouth FC with a range of ad hoc management and media services. In January 2020 joined the operations board at Gosport Borough Football Club, in a voluntary capacity, to support the club with a range of management services, but primarily communication. I left this role in March 2022. I chair the Pompey History Society on a voluntary basis, which works with Portsmouth FC to preserve and promote the club's rich archive. I am also executive producer of Our Club, a film about the community takeover and ownership of Portsmouth FC.Until June 2019, when I decided to 'retire', I was senior safeguarding manager at Portsmouth FC and lead for the club on inclusion. Between September 2012 and September 2016 I supported a number of organisations with a variety of media or communications consultancy, including Supporters' Direct, UK Active and GB Wheelchair Rugby.Until August 2012 I was Assistant Principal at St Vincent College, where I managed Community Relations, Student Support, Learning Support, and Liaison & Marketing aspects of college provision, as well as setting up the Gosport Marine Skills Centre. I was also responsible for Raising Aspirations in the Fareham & Gosport 14-19 Consortium and I was Chair of the Gosport Local Children's Partnership NEETs Task Group and the Gosport Employment & Skills Partnership Board. I am a qualified teacher and a qualified journalist (NCTJ). I have worked in the sixth form college sector (post-16 education) since 1989 and I have experience of teaching a wide range of courses including: Journalism & Radio, Media Studies, Communication Studies, Government & Politics, and Photography.From August 2012 I was the spokesperson for the Pompey Supporters' Trust, managing its PR and communications strategy until it completed its purchase of Portsmouth FC in April 2013My freelance writing work in the past 25 years has seen me write six books and edit a number of football websites.
