CurrentColin Fox was the first Chief Executive of Milton Keynes Economy & Learning Partnership (MKELP) which was established in 2003 to provide strategic leadership on all matters pertaining to the growth of the Milton Keynes economy.MKELP brings together the interests of the private, public, community & education sectors and is the custodian of the Long Term Economic Vision for the city which seeks to take Milton Keynes from a new town to international city.Colin has strong commitment to partnership working at neighbourhood; local; regional and national levels which has been built up over thirty years of experience working across the public and private sectors to promote economic development and business growth. Open to new, creative and innovative approaches to problem solving, Colin is able to facilitate initiatives and projects that bring together the differing cultures of the public, private and ‘not for profit’ sectors. He is equally comfortable working at ground-level with local communities on regeneration projects and senior management teams within public sector bodies as with working with start-up ventures or major corporates.Leading the external relationships and membership function of the local Chamber of Commerce provided an insight into what constitutes good business engagement, as well as an understanding of the differing needs of individual businesses and sectors.As the fastest and most successful new town in the UK is used to working in a dynamic and increasingly fluid environment, able to adapt and modify approaches to new challenges while maintaining effectiveness and performance under pressure. A personal strength is the ability to develop teamwork and maximise resources within a group to achieve key objectives based on strong communication skills, personal commitment and enthusiasm to any given task.
