Experienced Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Practitioner and published author. Founding member of the OSH Agency of Trinidad and Tobago; assisted in the development of its core values, the first vision and mission statements, the first five-year strategic plan and formulation/review of policies. Many years of managerial and supervisory experience in OSH regulation, commencing prior to the repeal of the Factories Ordinance Chapter 30 No. 2. and was involved in the development of OSH standards, draft regulations/codes of practice for Trinidad and Tobago.A pioneer in spearheading initiatives to promote legislative compliance and raise public awareness to OSH. Proven record in improving/promoting workplace safety and health standards. Skills inclusive of OSH policy formulation and review, OSH gap analyses/audits, contractor safety systems/practices, providing guidance in situations of unsafe work refusals, risk assessments and the establishment and proper functioning of safety and health committees.Master of Science thesis from the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of the West Indies (UWI) titled "Complying with the Factories Ordinance: A Study of Industrial Accidents in Trinidad and Tobago" was one of the earliest studies into OSH legislative compliance prior to the passage of the OSH Act of Trinidad and Tobago; it was awarded a mark of distinction by the university and made available for public reference in the UWI libraries of Trinidad, Barbados and Jamaica.Email: ttsafework@gmail.com
