In 2020 I was embedded with the Bushfire Recovery Team to address the economic impact on the region as a result of the 2020 Bushfires and preceding drought. Later our scope extended to include the impact of COVID-19.- Worked with local business in the region to identify economic impacts, develop strategies and implement actions to restore affected local economies and trade.- Connected 156 local businesses and primary producers with government grants.- Established relationships with individuals, Federal Government agencies, Non-Government Organisations, large corporate donors and philanthropists, like Sir Peter Cosgrove, Business Council of Australia and Bendigo Bank in order to bring much needed financial support to the region, resulting in over $10.2 million in positive economic impact on the community.I remain connected to the region and grateful for the opportunity to have served such wonderful people.
