I have extensive experience representing companies and developers across a range of environmental compliance, risk management and defense matters, concentrating in two primary areas:Real Estate and Project Development I advise developers, owners and other proponents on environmental requirements and risks associated with development projects. I provide effective, proactive counsel in the context of the developer’s strategic goal. I advise on permitting requirements and sequencing, negotiate with interested parties and abutters, and coordinate with engineers, consultants and other members of the project team.Environmental Cleanup and Cost Recovery DisputesI assist property owners, tenants and other industrial and commercial clients by aggressively pursuing cost-sharing from third parties or by defending against such claims, actively pursuing favorable settlement opportunities, advocating in court and before regulators, and negotiating agreements to my clients' obligations to investigate and remediate contamination.I counsel companies from a diverse array of industries including manufacturing, transportation, energy, healthcare and higher education in regulatory investigations. I pay close attention to the evolving standards targeting vapor intrusion and to resiliency and adaptation principles based on sea level rise projections that are being applied to development projects.
