I am an experienced director of exhibition programs for museums on modern and contemporary art. My aim is to establish inspiring projects for a broad audience with high quality standards for artists, institutions and all other parties involved.In recent years I worked as artistic director of Museum Kranenburgh in Bergen (NL), as head of exhibitions and collections for the Stedelijk Museum Schiedam and as co-curator for the Dutch entry of the Venice Biennale. As an independent curator I organized and curated exhibitions for several other museums.For Museum Kranenburgh, Bergen, I organized and curated the exhibitions 'Air' with artists Marina Abramovic & Ulay, Jan Andriesse, Marinus Boezem, Elspeth Diederix, Zoro Feigl, Roger Hiorns, Chaim van Luit, Jan van Munster, Yoko Ono, David Rickard, Jeroen de Rijke, Willem de Rooij, herman de vries, Marijke van Warmerdam, Ai Wei Wei (2020), 'Artists of Die Brücke': Emil Nolde, Erich Heckel, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Otto Mueller, Max Pechstein, Karl Schmidt Rottluff (2021), 'The Roaring Twenties' (2021), 'Jeroen Henneman - The Life of Things' (2022), 'Diana Scherer - Farming Textiles' (2023) and 'Cuny Janssen - The Binding Factor' (2023). More than 75,000 visitors visited Museum Kranenburgh in 2023. A record number for the museum. For Stedelijk Museum Schiedam, I organized and curated a.o. the exhibitions 'nul = 0, the Dutch nulgroup in an international context' (i.c.w. ZERO Foundation, Düsseldorf, 2011), 'herman de vries - all' (2014), 'Reality According to Jan Schoonhoven' (2015) 'Eye Attack, Op Art and Kinetic Art 1950-1970' (i.c.w. Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Denmark, 2016), 'stanley brouwn, man walks on planet earth' (2017), 'Jan Henderikse - All and Nothing' (2018) and 'Manzoni in Holland' (i.c.w. Fondazione Piero Manzoni, Milan, 2019). In the same period I made a number of exhibitions on contemporary art and artists.For Design Museum Den Bosch, I curated the exhibition 'Lucio Fontana - The Conquest of Space' (2021).In 2015 I acted as co-curator for the Dutch entry for the Venice Biennale: 'herman de vries - to be all ways to be', about the current relation and dislocation between men, culture and nature. The exhibition was sited in the Dutch Pavilion, the Laguna and the city of Venice.
