CurrentEngineer at and owner of a DevOps Consulting company, offering the following:- AWS architecture consulting and AWS migrations- Common DevOps tooling implementation (CI/CD, Source Code Management)- Ongoing staff augmentation for Bay Area technology companies- Software development, specifically for applications meant to manage and administer AWS- Bespoke training for up to 30 personsMy own specific skills:- AWS: deep familiarity with nearly all AWS services. Auto Scaling, CloudWatch, EC2, ECS, EKS, ElasticBeanstalk, ELB, Elasticache, Route 53, RDS, S3, SNS, SQS. Special emphasis on AWS usage in web-scale environments.- CI/CD: implementation of CI/CD using various software and services- Configuration Management: operational level familiarity with Ansible, Salt and Puppet. Contributed boto* modules to SaltStack project including testing using moto.- Containers: a number of ECS and EKS implementations.- Databases: operational level familiarity with both SQL and NoSQL databases including DynamoDB, Riak, Mongo, Microsoft SQL and MySQL.- Development: writes software primarily in python, with an emphasis on code for automation or analysis. Uniquely familiar with writing operationally sound code having added unit testing to one of the most widely used configuration management systems and bulletproofed a contract-worker scheduling system for a $50/million+ year company.- Infrastructure Automation: unique and expert level familiarity with AWS CloudFormation and familiarity with Ansible, Salt and terraform for infrastructure provisioning.- Monitoring and Alerting: familiarity with CloudWatch, DataDog, NewRelic, nagios, PagerDuty and an excellent understanding of monitoring and alerting technologies in general.- Operating Systems: deep knowledge of Linux as a server operating system. Operational level familiarity of Windows 2008 servers and OS X servers.- Web Servers: implementation and operational level familiarity with Apache httpd, Apache tomcat and nginx
