Lead the Merchandise Planning Department for the Computing Category at Tesco.

As European Head of Merchandising for Merrell, Patagonia and Chaco Footwear managed the transition of the Merchandising function from Bristol to London. Recruited and trained a new team which was fully operational within 10 weeks. First full year on year results demonstrate a 23% reduction in stock holding with no adverse affect on availability and a 38% improvement in stock turns. Embarked on a systematic process of reviewing and improving all procedures.

• Worked In Italy (at UniEuro, DSGi’s Italian chain) and negotiated €500,000 payment from suppliers for the 2006/2007 financial year, and €2,500,000 for the 2007/2008 financial year.• Designed, developed and implemented the DSGi Pan European Delivery Rules to be employed in all 14 countries the company operates in. This required travelling to and working with the commercial and warehouse teams in Sweden, Norway, Czech Republic, Italy and Greece.• Co-ordinated and led the Far East air freight tender and achieved a 23% year on year cost reduction in our air freight charges.• Proposed, introduced and briefed the warehouses regarding ‘Supplier Compensation’ for failed or part deliveries. This improved our ‘On Time and In Full’ deliveries by 14%.
