Policy & Strategy GroupFinancial Strategy & Planning - MoJ Group FinanceThe Finance Strategy and Planning Team is responsible for setting MoJ's Financial Strategy and delivering medium-term financial plans. Providing Finance Business Partnering for policy and ensuring Ministers and the Permanent Secretary are content with the financial implications of policy decisions, and that these align with their overall strategy. Working with colleagues in every area of the department at every level, to make sure that finance and efficiency is at the heart of decision making, and that when developing strategic plans, understanding is attained, and that buy-in from policy, operational and corporate colleagues is gained. The team is responsible for the department’s relationship with HMT, designing and negotiating Spending Review settlements, efficiency and ensuring the best use of resources, leading on bids to HMT and No10 at fiscal events, and setting budget allocations at the start of each financial year.

Account Management Team – Major UK Government Account• Oversaw and communicated the financial and resourcing activities across a range of major portfolios and contracts. • Oversaw up to 15 contracts collectively worth in excess of £15m per annum. Applied a high level of accuracy and analysis to effectively track costs. Made comparisons against budget and closely communicated with delivery leads to enable ongoing contract management.• Produced over 30 contract pricings, extensions, and uplifts in a six-month period, generating additional incoming revenue.• Managed all forecasting, timesheet reviews, ensuring correct and smooth client invoicing.• Liaised with Shared Service, Finance Team, Commercial Team, and Senior Management Team, on all financial and resourcing aspects.• Identified potential process improvements upon joining the long-established team, driving both cost and time saving’s. • Implemented streamlined processes and updated management tools.

Global AMO Team – Major UK Government Account• Maintained and controlled all aspects of Resource Profiling and controlled all areas of apportionment resource accounting. • Liaised with all management, and operational teams regarding the implementation, running, and maintenance of all Resource Profile Planning related issues. Ensured resource demand and supply was met effectively and on time.• Production of contract actual v budget analysis, delivered trend analysis, and anticipated contract over-runs in a timely manner. Allowed delivery leads to take appropriate actions to mitigate any potential unforeseen costs.• Specialised in all aspects of Apportionment accounting, including, planning, and maintenance. Implemented process changes that accounted for a saving of over £40k per month on non-billable days.• Oversaw the implementation of a totally new resource profiling tools. Included the testing, training, and implementation of the whole process. Drove cost reduction of around 2 full time equivalent resources.

Microsoft Project Server Team Lead – Major UK Government Account• Led a team of 3 resources, on specific account resource planning. • Created and controlled over 800 Microsoft Project Server plans. Successfully recorded, tracked, and analysed performance of all Portfolio Projects.• Produced Key Performance Indicators of contract financials, actual, forecast, and variance at completion data. Allowed team leads to take appropriate actions to mitigate contract issues.• Ran and lead performance reviews of account projects using tools and processes be-spoke across that account.• Sought and implemented process improvements, streamlined processes, and achieved time saving initiatives.

CFM – Various Accounts• Worked on the Client Financial Management team as a Specialist.• Working across several large UK Government accounts, worked with in a structure to monitor, control, analyse and guide all financial process with-in those teams.• Owned month end accounts, and lead contract financial presentations with delivery leads.• Monitored and guided the Analysts with-in those teams, covering for the lead when necessary.

Lead Financial Analyst, Child Support Reform ProjectLeading all financial aspects and controls on the build, development and implementation of the Child Support Reform Project, reporting to the Senior Financial Lead.Controlling, monitoring, and reporting variances, on all aspects of project pricings, and monitoring costings against original deal economics.Contract Turnover Value £500m (10 year contract)
