I was elected, and re-elected, by the voters of La Mesa, California to serve as a member of our City Council. Serving these two terms was an honor and a privilege.

• Member of the leadership team of the City of San Diego's public housing authority. • Responsible for advancing the Commission’s policy agenda at local, state, and federal levels.• Complex policy development, including updates to impact fees, reform of entitlement processes, and creation of monitoring program for local reinvestment activity by national financial institutions.• Coordinated initiatives and developed significant relationships with State legislators, Council offices, City Attorneys, Mayors’ administrations, city staff, developers, bank officials, and a wide variety of housing, community development, and business organizations. • Directed economic consultants and outside legal counsel for support and advice on policy initiatives.• Extensive on-the-record work with local reporters to explain and promote policy initiatives.

• Appointed by Governor Jerry Brown to serve on the leadership team of California's primary agency for housing and affordability.• Served as the Department’s liaison to governments, non-profits, advocates, developers, the public, and the press.• Directed communications efforts for state-wide agency, including crisis communications, press releases, expanding social media platforms, and extensive on-the-record media relations.• Lead two-year 300-page rule-making process to reform the State Enterprise Zone program. Served as primary drafter of regulations and Initial Statement of Reasons, directed legal review, and organized a state-wide public and industry engagement program.• Organized stakeholder working group and drafted rules to update Redevelopment income limits policy.

• Drafted issue and fact-check documents for press, prepared policy and legal memoranda.• Advanced rallies in San Diego and Riverside. • Responsible for a variety of duties in a diverse commercial and securities litigation group. • Significant research and writing on complex and novel issues. Took depositions and attended hearings.• Managed discovery processes and discovery staff, organized quality control for contract reviewers. • Advised pro bono and private clients about non-profit, campaign finance, and environmental laws.• Researched and drafted legal appendix for report to the UN Security Council on North Korean human rights abuses.

• Researching, writing and cite checking for plaintiff-side employment and labor firm. • Work split equally between federal and state litigation. Duties include significant federal jurisdiction research.
