As Business Development Director at KNW my main role was to develop relationships with external organisations to seek new opportunities in new and existing markets.A key part of the role focused on managing the relationships with external Sales Agencies who generated and sold surveyed heating and insulation measures as part of Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme. Managing the agencies required meticulous attention to detail and the confidence to manage and monitor organisations of varying sizes and ability.

This role comprised of two main elements, the first is managing all of our ‘Innovation Schemes’ to generate carbon savings in homes to fulfill our contractual obligations to energy companies under the Government’s Carbon Emissions Reduction Target (CERT). Innovation Schemes involve leveraging the wider Carillion group (over 55,000 people) to offer insulation to staff of key customers and clients, it also involves creating new relationships with blue chip organisations (such as Nationwide Building Society) to offer insulation to their employees. The second element of the role focuses on managing the relationships with external Sales Agencies who generate and sell surveyed insulation measures to us. Managing the agencies requires meticulous attention to detail and the confidence to manage and monitor organisations of varying sizes and ability. Notable achievements include:• Mitigated £20m risk of non delivery.• Grew portfolio of supply chain and maintained relationships with key suppliers to benefit of wider group.• Increased sales from 1,000 per month to 2,000 per month .• Created an improved internal sales force via training, revised incentives and back office support• Identified brand new route to market to increase sales.• Improved group relations via successful management of large customers where I led in delivering above and beyond resulting in demand for further services from our organisation.
