Colin Robinson Email and Phone Number
I started working as a Provincial Page in Toronto at 13 years old. I commuted from Milton to Toronto by train, spending 10 hour work days delivering water and documents to MPPs. Since then, I've been working in customer service, shipping, and construction fields as a cashier, labourer, landscaper, and more. I've been programming since I was in elementary school. I still remember programming in python on my first Raspberry Pi, and programming in Scratch in the school library. As I've grown I've developed a love for computer games new and old (The original DOOM and DOOM Eternal are some of my favourites) and a love of 3D printing and modelling, as I love to tinker with and upgrade my non-stock Ender 3 Max.Throughout my life I've had a variety of volunteer positions. I started my own charity at the age of 7 that I ran for 6 years; Colin's Toy Drive successfully collected over 2000 toys from the community to give to local children in need, and received donations from people such as Kathleen Wynne and Chris Hadfield, and organizations such as Crayola and Spin Master. I continued to volunteer in the future, canvassing for political campaigns, working in leadership programs at my high school, working for the local library, and currently, working with my city as part of the LoveMyHood Grant Selection Committee. Working for the betterment of my community is important to me and something I've continued to do even while in University as the community I live in changes, as I volunteered for both the KSRM House Council and FYLP Community Outreach council in my first year, and created Laurier's Society of Tetris, where we fought other universities in the global field. A jack of all trades, I have a variety of interesting skills and hobbies that I keep myself engaged with. I enjoy music creation, as a bass guitar and piano player and self-taught drummer. As mentioned before, I am an avid gamer and stream my play-throughs over on Twitch or on my Youtube channel. I enjoy tinkering with my 3D printer and creating interesting projects just as much as I enjoy reading novels such as The Wheel of Time series or Game of Thrones. I also enjoy writing in my spare time and came second place in a local writing contest during the pandemic.Currently, I'm seeking roles that let me flex my creativity and leadership in a positive environment and hope to use my skills for the betterment of organizations. I believe I am a strong asset to any team as I can adapt quickly and effectively and be a strong leader for other new employees. Thank you for your time.Colin Robinson
