In addition to my previous job description I also oversee the daily bookkeeping tasks. This includes daily sales data entry, inventory management, bill pay, hiring, responding to claim audits, managing insurance contracts, store purchases, assisting our Accountant with Profit and Loss data and Payroll, reconciling insurance payments and bank statements, as well as many other tasks that may pop up in a Pharmacy setting.

Daily tasks include, prescription intake, processing, filling, and labeling prescriptions for the Pharmacist to dispense. I answer incoming phone calls, enter daily orders, organize medication shelves, keep pharmacy supplies stocked, process prescription claims to insurance, initiate calls to doctor's offices and other pharmacies as needed, and maintain a pleasant customer service attitude for everyone that comes into the store.

I began as a Delivery Driver only. My tasks were to prepare completed prescription for delivery, use the company vehicle to bring patient's prescriptions to them in a timely manner, and contact the store on behalf of patients as needed. After 9 months of making deliveries only I was invited to work in the store as a Pharmacy Clerk, as well. In addition to making deliveries outside the store I was also helping customers receive their finishes prescriptions inside the store as well. I was trained to use our point of sale system, follow HIPAA policies and procedures, handle monetary transactions, assist customers with purchasing over the counter items, help answer phone calls, and reach out to patients to let them know their medications are ready to be picked up. This position included daily janitorial tasks such as sweeping, taking out the trash, cleaning high contact surfaces, and keeping over the counter shelves stocked and organized.
