Johnson Controls in Florence, KY is a battery component manufacturing facility. As a recruiter, I am searching for talent for positions from entry level janitor and general purpose utility to skilled positions such as maintenance mechanic and mechanical operator. It is my responsibility to process the candidate through Taleo ATS and get them through the hiring process and getting them onboarded.Once that process is complete, I conduct a weekly orientation class for new hires. This includes plant tours, company introduction, policies and procedures. I also process forms to get them uploaded into Workday. In this role, I have implemented a new attendance tracking system called Q Quest, and keep track of attendance points and corrective measures associated with the plant's attendance policy. I was the plant's SME for benefits and open enrollment for 2018.I was the HR representative for the yearly Ops Review in September 2017. In this role I assist the HR Manager with daily HR functions including departmental reports, staffing reports, coordinating contingent workers as necessary. I have attended Chamber of Commerce sponsored job fairs and hiring events, and also planned a plant-specific job fair. I have also been involved with planning events such as holiday luncheons for current employees as well as retirees, holiday parties, Breakfast with Santa, Adopt-A-family from the local elementary school, Thanksgiving turkey handouts, and Halloween celebrations.This role also allowed me to participate in rolling out a plant-wide wage increase for hourly employees, as well as a change over to a 12 hour shift schedule for a continuous operations facility. I have also gained experience in dealing with union contract negotiations.
