I am owner of a very unique art studio: Colleen May Guerrilla FX. We specialize in airbrushed makeup and special effects, but we actually airbrush anything we can get to hold still long enough! I also sculpt, paint murals, create portraits, author websites, design ads and print layout, write a lot and dabble in set photography. Some of my latest projects include writing and producing a feature film script, as well and writing and producing a paranormal reality show (Show Me Ghosts West). I have many other projects come and go, usually in commercials, Indie Films, opera and theater, which includes the FX (effects) creation of monsters, fiends, ghouls and practical effects.

I am the assistant manager at the Edge of Hell haunted attraction and manager of makeup and wardrobe for The Edge of Hell, The Beast and Macabre Cinema haunted attractions. My duties include set design, sound design, artwork, costume design, mask making, makeup, managing makeup crews, magaging wardrobe crews, managing actors, customer service, payroll, interviews, hiring,, actor training, supplies inventory, ordering supplies and animatronic maintenance.

I spent from 2001 to 2018 spear-heading the makeup department for 4 of the biggest commercial haunted houses in the world. I also built sets from concept to completion, designed sound, managed actors & artists, managed costuming, quality control and various computer duties, which include payroll. In 2018, I designed and built a wonderful and wicked escape room for this company, from concept to completion.

My duties at the Jackson County Advocate included everything from answering phones and dealing with the books, to designing layouts, graphics, photography, interviews, advertisements and writing stories. I did a little bit of everything.
