- Issue approvals, suspensions, denials, and clear to closes on conventional, bond, andjumbo loans (signing authority up to $2M excess of $2M with management approval)- Complete second level reviews behind other underwriters on loan amounts over $1.5M toensure guideline adherence- Complete an in-depth analysis to ensure borrowers meet credit guidelines for over 40investors and programs- Determine qualifying income by analyzing personal and business tax returns to mitigatecompany risk- Review collateral appraisals to ensure the value is supported and information is accurate- Evaluate all loan documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with guidelines- Continue education by attending trainings on new programs, investors, and guidelinesregularly- Maintain open communication with sales and processing to ensure a smooth loan process- Train processors, junior underwriters, and new hires to ensure smooth transition intodepartment- Provide valuable input across several projects each year to aid in process improvementsincluding: updating company intranet to reduce the receipt of generic and repeatunderwriting questions, troubleshooting system inefficiencies and changes, andrevamping underwriting conditions to add clarity, conformity, and efficiency- Assist management with scenario questions, file allocation to team based on goals andcapacity, rush request coordination, and various overflow tasks- Provide out of office coverage for underwriting manager

-Support senior underwriters by reviewing their conditionally approved conforming files-Review and clear all conditions on approved conforming files-Communicate to all parties what documentation is required on loans not ready for clear to close-Issue a full underwriting clear to close on files that all conditions are met-Continue hands on training to build the knowledge necessary to fully underwrite loans

-Evaluate loans for accuracy prior to submitting the file to underwriting for approval-Collect and review outstanding conditions from borrowers and third parties-Maintain communication with loan officers and borrowers during the entire loan process-Prepare files for the closing department once they have been cleared to close-Provide training and assistance for new processors and junior processors

-Provide coverage on files for any loan processors/account coordinators that are out of the office-Perform pre-close audits on each loan to ensure all information is accurate and up to date-Print and index received conditions into the system for underwriter review and deliver physical files to individual underwriters
