Under the supervision of the Design and Development Manager, prepare design and development plans for sites and facilities, including the compilation of relevant pre-design information, consultation and engagement with stakeholders and other professionals, preparation of detailed plans and drawings, advise on implementation, review and supervise construction, and the evaluation and reporting on projects.

Calculate dimensions, square footage, profile and component specifications, and material quantities, using calculator or computer.Draft detailed dimensional drawings and design layouts for projects and to ensure conformance to specifications.Analyze proposed site factors and design maps, graphs, tracings, and diagrams to illustrate findings.Read and review project blueprints and structural specifications to determine dimensions of structure or system and material requirements.Prepare reports and document project activities and data.Confer with supervisor to determine project details, such as plan preparation, acceptance testing, and evaluation of field conditions.Inspect project site and evaluate contractor work to detect design malfunctions and ensure conformance to design specifications and applicable codes. Plan and conduct field surveys to locate new sites and analyze details of project sites.Develop plans and estimate costs for installation of systems, utilization of facilities, or construction of structures.Evaluate facility to determine suitability for occupancy and square footage availability.

Colleen Glover is a Senior Design Technician at Cima+ Canada Ltd. She has a CADD Technologist diploma from Academy Canada in St. John’s Newfoundland. Prior to joining Cima+ in 2013, she worked for one and a half years as a Civil Designer with All North Consultants Ltd. and four years as a CADD Technologist at MDH Engineered Solutions A Member of the SNC Lavalin Group, as well as a year with Peters Surveys (Altus Geomatics) here in Saskatoon. She conducted a wide range of duties which included, surveying, 3D design, quantities, supervisory rolls, and OH&S duties (surprise visits to site, hold meetings, etc..). In her 7 years in this field of work Mrs. Glover has participated in the design and drafting of multiple projects throughout Saskatchewan and Alberta, both large and small. She utilizes AutoCAD Civil 3D on a daily basis to calculate quantities/volumes and create design work from the input, instructions and sketches of the engineers. Along with using AutoCAD Civil 3D on a daily basis, Colleen has shown leadership and supervisory skills.

Work with engineers and clients on various civil and mechanical projects. Design subdivisions, water sewer systems, calculate earthwork quantities, predict water run off, design roadways and culvert installations, some 3d piping for indusuatrial buildings

Produced CAD drawings on various large as well as small projects. Calculated quantity earthwork take offs in Civil 3D on a daily basis. Aided in the design of various projects.
