Responsibilities included: Conducting extensive policy research and developing detailed bill proposals on policy areas including housing, tenant protections, labor laws, and clean energy. Revising bill drafts to ensure that the introduced bill aligns with the Delegate's intent and priorities. Tracking each bill through committee hearings, voting sessions, and floor debates. Representing the Delegate in meetings with constituents, advocates, and other elected officials. Briefing the Delegate on the status of each bill and all stakeholder feedback. Developing high-quality material for each bill including committee testimony, talking points, press releases, memos, graphics, and social media content. Overseeing the amendment process by coordinating with policy experts, stakeholders, administrative agencies, bill drafters, and other elected officials.•Led the Delegate's five-person team through policy research, press releases, newsletters, and constituent correspondence.•Managed the operations of a House subcommittee, including briefing the Delegate on potential agendas, coordinating the subcommittee's priorities with legislative leadership, tracking the subcommittee's 30 bills, communicating with subcommittee members, and scheduling meetings.•Administer the annual delegate scholarship by writing and publicizing the application, recruiting review committee members, overseeing review committee meetings, and ultimately administering $60,000 to 80-100 college students each year.•Wrote and published The Stewart Star, the Delegate's monthly newsletter, to an audience of 29,166 constituents.•Managed constituent communications and casework, including handling 170 individual cases with a 91% success rate.
