Constant busyness and overworking threaten mental health; they're not a badge of honor. As an individual contributor with experience in leadership development, I influence how my organization builds a culture of psychological safety so it's not a sign of weakness to say "I have too much on my plate."I enjoy optimizing processes and decreasing the time and brain power people spend on things because their plates are too full and they "don't have time" to address the root of the problem. To really get ahead in any industry, we need to normalize taking care of the brains of our people—even if the up-front cost seems high.As a certified life coach, I apply mind management tools to building business processes so that it transforms how people work and how they work together. My engineering + creative writing background means I can translate technical concepts into layman's terms for time-pressured decision-makers who may not understand the jargon. I effectively and efficiently handle multiple projects to completion without sacrificing quality because I single-task instead of multi-tasking (which doesn't exist and should not be praised).I've had T1D over 28 years. I do not let it hold me back from pursuing such a variety of projects. Here are some highlights!- I'm an author coach helping novelists go from idea to first draft, then from first draft to self-published with Tally Ink and The 60-Day Novel Writing Challenge Professional Premium group.- My first clean YA fantasy novel, Mark of Stars, came out in November 2021- Book 2 in my YA fantasy series, The Prophet's Ruin, came out in March 2023- Book 3 in my YA fantasy series, Tides of Fate, comes out fall 2024- I am the host of 2 podcasts: This is Type 1, about real life with type 1 diabetes; and The Novel Writing Podcast, for writers to listen to bite-sized episodes of encouragement and writing tips.
