Organizational Sustainability ExpertLead, train, and counsel organizations to reduce their environmental impacts, address social equity issues, and achieve profit and budget goals. As SRA’s Corporate Sustainability Director, led SRA’s award-winning Go Green program to reduce SRA’s environmental impacts. Designed and implemented corporate environmental management policy, sustainability strategy, action plans, and performance metrics across six targeted areas. Collaboratively institutionalized sustainability with multi-disciplinary operational teams with responsibility for SRA’s building portfolio, procurement, and information technology systems. Built strategic internal and external partnerships to improve environmental footprint, profit margins, and employee productivity by instituting initiatives that increase office location efficiency, office space healthiness and utilization efficiency, energy and water efficiency, recycling rates, commuter benefits and choices, and opportunities to engage in community service activities.Assist federal agencies, such as the Department of Veterans Affairs, as they implement internal sustainability programs under Executive Order 13693 and organizational sustainability programs for external stakeholders (e.g., EPA Climate Leaders).Brownfields, Land Revitalization, and Community Sustainability ExpertConsult to federal agencies and state and local governments on community sustainability, infill development, land cleanup and reuse, transit oriented development, and climate change. Serve as trusted advisor to EPA’s Brownfields and EPA’s Sustainable Communities programw. Partnered with EPA HQ and regional staff to scale a small, pilot-based initiative into the mature brownfield and land revitalization grant program that has helped transform hundreds of communities. Deep understanding of historical, current, and trending techniques and strategies that are advancing community sustainability projects and programs.

The mission of Arlingtonians for a Clean Environment (ACE) is to promote stewardship of our natural resources and practical solutions to a sustainable lifestyle in order to protect water, air, and open spaces in the Arlington community.ACE does this by working with citizens, civic associations, local and national government agencies, and the business and professional community to achieve and maintain a clean and sustainable community. ACE provides environmental education and volunteer opportunities to Arlington County residents and is supported primarily by the Arlington County government under a grant from the Department of Environmental Services Solid Waste Division. Additional funding is secured through government and foundation grants and donations from individuals and organizations. ACE is directed by a volunteer citizen board.

Participated in a County sponsored working group to explore alternative methodologies, evaluate their possible ramifications, and propose a clear and consistent methodology to evaluate site-specific parking ratios and associated transportation improvement strategies proposed in applications for site plan office buildings.
