One of my earliest childhood memories, is of taking my grandmother's cloth napkins and tying them together to create a dress and headscarf for my three year old sister. This sparked a creative fire inside me that I unleashed upon her until she was old enough to out run me. Throughout my life I've been drawn to creative outlets. From casual costume design (torture, if you were my sister) to studying Mass Media Communications at University, I've honed many skills as a designer and a creative thinker within the fields I've had the privilege to work in. The only thing that could rival my passion for the arts is my love of travel. I was fortunate enough to be offered a chance to work in Japan as an English teacher and spent five years there. It was amazing to experience a new culture and see the world from another perspective. While there I also volunteered for the canoe team during the 2020 (let's be real, 2021) Olympics which opened up one of the greatest mysteries of my life. How in the world did the Czech Republic team misplace an eight man boat?! To my knowledge, they never found it.After leaving Japan, I spent 2 months traveling through south east Asia and Europe. Malaysia was the most amazing by far with it's rainbow temples and wild peacocks which, with some quick photoshop, I convinced my German roommate from the hostel were called "beauty chickens" in America. To date I have traveled throughout Mexico, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, The Philippines, Malaysia, Germany, Poland, Scotland, England, and France. Regarding my experience in media, I have worked on and produced 12 short films and a commercial with Retroscope Media for Celtx. My skill specialties lie in editing, aesthetic design, peer relations, and interpersonal communications.So what ever happened to my costuming hobby? I have spent the last 10 years creating original designs and cosplays for fun and for competitions and I am currently working on the 2nd ensemble in an 8 piece burlesque collection. My sister is nowhere to be found since she heard the news.
