About Colleen Smith

I have over 35 years of experience working in business roles across ANZ. The vast majority of that time has been in payment roles, either working with customers to deliver payment solutions or leading payment processing teams and most recently supporting both the business and technology by gathering business requirements, converting them into agile stories and working closely with technology to deliver the business outcomes.I am passionate about delivering end to end solutions, which drive great customer outcomes at the same time as simplifying payment support processes. I am now actively putting this into practice as the Initiative Lead all new NPPA initiatives, where I am responsible for delivering the PayTo solution across ANZ. I am skilled at working with both business and technology and believe that it takes a collection of diverse individuals to deliver the best outcomes for customers and the Bank. I am able to focus on what matters and clear barriers which hinder or distract teams from being able to deliver the solution. I am passionate about growing individuals to be the best they can be, this may be as simple as sharing payment knowledge to helping them to develop their soft skills.

    In my role as Product Owner NPP I was able to use my detailed understanding gained from previously representing ANZ as their NPP Industry Representative on the Operations Forum. I took with me the a number of objectives;1. Ensure that everything we did was compliant with all NPPA Obligations and Procedures.2. ANZ optimised the customer opportunities which came with NPP.I have been responsible for the last 2 Major Releases, which have both been successful and implemented with no customer disruption.I have worked closely with stakeholders across ANZ to deliver on priorities and to maintain a refined backlog.Along with ongoing NPP delivery, I have also been key in the development the requirements and solution to deliver Mandated Payment Services. I have an in-depth knowledge of Mandate, Payment Initiation and the various enquiry types. Along with the the Product Owner Role for NPP and MPS I have also taken the opportunity to extend my skills to be the MPS Initiative Lead, this has introduced me to a more detailed level of planning and financials, along with providing guidance and support to the MPS Project Team.

    In the last 2 years as the NPP Product Owner I have been responsible for delivering the NPP Mandatory releases along with building out ANZ's NPP customer solution, which included enabling offsystem BSB's to be enabled to receive NPP Payments. This has given me the opportunity to work across all ANZ segments, from Retail to Institutional including ANZ's Appointer solution. Most recently I have been the Product Owner responsible for Mandated Payment Services (MPS).
