Hi there! I'm Colleen. Psychotherapist, advocate, supervisor, speaker, and writer. I received my Master’s in Social Work degree from Columbia University and my undergraduate degree from Syracuse University where I studied psychology, communication and addiction. Currently, I’m the Owner & Clinical Director of the private group practice Attune Psychotherapy based in New York City. I spent many years early on in my career with Monte Nido and Affiliates, holding roles ranging from Recovery Coach to Lead Therapist. Additionally, I’ve paired my strong passion for recovery advocacy with my therapeutic specializations through my work with eating disorder non-profit, namely Project HEAL, which over the years has involved piloting and supervising a peer support program, chapter leadership, writing, speaking at and organizing events and chairing the HEALers Circle network of eating disorder specialists. My clinical practice focuses on treatment for eating disorders, substance abuse, anxiety, depression, trauma, Hoarding Disorder, OCD and mood disorders, specializing in a Health at Every Size framework and emphasizing body neutrality. I encourage clients to find respect and appreciation for their natural body size while striving to meet each client exactly where they are in their process. I utilize an honest, curious approach, finding that humor and a strengths-based perspective can help aid clients in developing effective communication, self-respect and a will to improve their lives.Specialties: clinical social work, eating disorders, body image, non-profits, social networking, blogging, interpersonal communication
