Somatic Practitioner with over fifteen years of experience working in global public health in the United States and resource challenged settings, including six years in Haiti, with a special focus on women and adolescents.Colleen's work is deeply grounded in process-oriented psychology, somatic experiencing, drama therapy, role-play and un-shaming, which is a radical approach to alleviating the pain of all manner of physical and emotional difficulties, including addiction, trauma, low self-esteem, body image issues and abuse.Her scope of work has focused on Haiti, South Africa and the United States. The lens of her work as a somatic practitioner takes into consideration the cultural and historical context of the individual whom she is working with. Towards this end Colleen enjoys the challenge of working cross culturally as well as designing initiatives to help bridge cultural and background gaps.Throughout her career Colleen has worked with individuals, government organizations, think tanks, community based organizations, educational institutions, healthcare facilities and non-profits and brings to her work a holistic perspective. Colleen holds a Masters degree in International Relations & Global Studies with a concentration in Global Health as well as several certificates in somatic trainings, including; Somatic Experiencing, Shadow Work, Drama Therapy, Earth-Based Processes, Shamanic Interventions, Abuse, Trauma and Un-Shaming methods. Colleen is also trained in Krasner Hypnosis and is a trained birth doula. Colleen has led and conducted extensive research in Haiti in conjunction with Northeastern University and Partners in Health, in the area of sexual and reproductive health. Some of her research on healthcare in Haiti has been published in the Japanese Medical Journal Association. In addition to her work Colleen believes in being a balanced human being and making sure her cup is full, physically, mentally, and spiritually so that what she brings to the table is the best she has to offer for herself, her family and those she works with. The end result was identifying and enrolling more than 700 additional vulnerable girls in leadership and peer mentor programs throughout the country.

Collaborated with over 35 organizations to create a network and coalition of advocates with a united vision of building the capacity of young women and growing leaders in local communities. Worked closely with other consultant specialists to develop a non traditional education program and curriculum rooted in a holistic approach to learning with peer mentors. Created and tested content for program material on sexual and reproductive health, yoga, leadership/ self-esteem, financial literacy and gender based violence. Managed program budgets, developed and implemented new strategies to diversify and increase program revenue, including successfully approaching potential funders, grant writing and organizing stakeholder activities to raise awareness of pertinent issues and funds. Planned and implemented successful learning activities, including conferences, workshops, trainings and retreats. Contributed articles, presented our work at conferences, and was a keynote speaker at Saint John’s University in order to raise awareness around the issues vulnerable girls face and garner support.
