Special Agent Colleen O’Mara began her entertainment career in production working as a Writer & Producer on an award-winning, educational, video series about Diversity, narrated by the world-renowned Dr. Maya Angelou. Colleen then joined the editorial staff of a highly respected industry publication, rising quickly up the masthead to Senior Editor.Managing a team of writers, Colleen oversaw the editorial and production phases of the monthly magazine, which profiled celebrity Directors, DP’s & Producers. It was there that Colleen met her then-colleague and future business partner, Jessie Nagel. Together, the duo devised the innovative concept for Hype, a boutique agency catering to creative service companies and talents behind-the-scenes in entertainment. Fueled purely by their combined, intuitive entrepreneurial spirits and love for adventure, Hype was born.As company partners, Colleen & Jessie manage the expansion and growth of Hype together. They each handle client accounts, as well as manage a growing team of PR, Marketing & Social Media Specialists. Colleen also oversees the management of the agency’s newest divisions, Hype Social & Hype Creative.In addition to her rewarding work at Hype, Colleen is also a Writer, having published articles and essays in a variety of industry publications and newspapers. She is also a Creative Writer, having completed short story & poetry collections, as well as her first full-length book.Committed to community work within the entertainment industry and beyond, Colleen is a Co-Founder of the Venice Media District (VMD). She served as Director of Communications for VMD, and chaired the committee of the Venice Chamber of Commerce. Recently, Colleen joined the Ojai Art Center Board in a Communications role, and collaborated on the Ojai Film Festival for several years providing Press Relations for the internationally recognized festival. A seasoned Speaker, Colleen has moderated panels, served as a panelist, as well as been highlighted as a featured reader & speaker at events in her beloved hometown of Los Angeles, as well as around the U.S.In her rare free time, Colleen travels the U.S. and the world. Her favorite saying: “Will work to travel.” She lives in beautiful & emerging Venice, California, and has a house "in the country” in Ojai, California, which she enjoys with her artistic family of five.
