I am a teacher who is specialized in the instruction of concepts in the field of mathematics. I am an education professional with an in-depth knowledge of mathematics and science. I possess a strong interest in teaching. I can demonstrate numeric functions, equations, and various mathematical principles to students. I furthermore strive to help my students think hypothetically, figure out causes and effects, understand mathematical structures, verify solutions, and express answers in written form.I can plan, assess, and assign lessons; manage and grade tests; maintain classroom discipline; and listen to verbal discussions and presentations. I have observed and evaluated the performance of my students and used assessment methods to judge their overall progress. Some other typical duties I have performed are: compiling notes and providing coherent lectures in verbal and electronic forms, tutored students in group settings and individually, collected specialized materials for homework, and used proper learning strategies. I moreover have tried to engage my classes in discussions about how math is used outside the mathematics classroom setting with emphasis on the connection between math and science. In addition, I have lead discussions to get students to think about the links between math and the arts (i.e. visual arts, literary arts, music, theatre, dance, film, etc.)Specialties: I have a Professional Teacher License for the state of Colorado in Elementary Education and Secondary Mathematics. I can teach students at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. I understand how to introduce students at the elementary and middle school level to general mathematical concepts and I am also specialized in the area of pre-algebra.

The learning model at Brady is that a student can learn anywhere, anytime. Students choose to attend during mornings or in the afternoon. I currently work in the afternoon sessions. We focus on individualized student learning, differentiating based on the student’s skill development.I work with a wonderful team of teachers and we are responsible for developing individualized lesson plans for our students or small groups of students in similar areas of development. I also get to teach math labs that encourage learners to develop skills they may be lacking or to refresh skills that they may not have used in recently. Our instructional environment includes a room with computers for student use, a wireless network students can connect to with their own technology, Interwrite boards (3), projection units, document cameras, online curriculum, and iPads and laptops for teachers. We are working in a blended learning/teaching environment. My primary job as a teacher at Brady is to help each learner unlock his/her potential through differentiated lesson planning. Another part of my current position is to motivate our students (not just my own) and to encourage them to seek success along their future career path.Team planning and teaching is an integral piece of our learning environment. We meet on a weekly basis and try to use our lunches and planning periods to also further this mission. -
