As a registered nurse case manager I am responsible for assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating injured workers through the medical case management process. We work as intermediaries between carriers, attorneys, medical care providers, employers, and employees to ensure appropriate and cost-effective health care services.

Manage referrals via electronic referral systems which include Allscripts, Curaspan, 4Next. Ensocare, Meditech, and Epic care link. Educate and orient all new staff. Maintain and educate employees to the Intake department and all electronic referral systems.

My current responsibilities include intake of patient referrals from hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, MD offices, and other facilities. I gather all necessary information to prepare and educate clinical staff so that they can provide the highest quality of care in the home.I currently work with many electronic referral systems which include Curaspan, Allscripts, Meditech, 4Next, Healthwyse, Care360, Microsoft Word, and Outlook. All systems allow me to gather detailed information so that our field clinicians can provide the necessary care in the home. My current position as Intake RN has opened my eyes to the future of healthcare. Medical coding is also a vital part of my job and is key to ensuring our organization can provide clinical services. This financial piece allows insurance companies to reimburse our organization for the services provided. Most importantly, customer service is key for this role. My daily interactions with doctors, healthcare staff, facilities, case managers, and patients assures all clients that they have made the right decision when choosing NVNA and Hospice for their home care needs. Currently work with and educate/orient on the many electronic referral systems and healthcare systems. These include: Meditech, Allscripts, 4Next, Curaspan, Ensocare, Care360, Microsoft, Healthwyse, Outlook, and continually incorporating and implementing new systems as healthcare evolves.

Educating the public on the importance of maintaining one's health and providing the necessary testing, services, and products to allow one to obtain their optimal level of health and wellness!!This is the first company to offer physician wellness testing to the mass market and allow individuals to take control of their own health!
