Change is important for any business, yet frequently met with resistance. Delivering change is always a challenge that I enjoy. As a Project Manager, my passion is knowing that I have delivered a sustainable end-to-end journey which benefits the business, colleagues and customers. Defining and controlling scope, budgets, timescales, quality, benefits and risks are all variables I have experience of managing.My experience of delivering change within retail and IT has been varied. My very first role as part-time shelf replenisher at Budgens escalated into changing the layout of my Frozen food department to improve availability and drive sales. This evolved into delivering store refits and relays (using JDA), new store openings, IT transformations and migrations (DDI and infrastructure), and operational changes within retail and fulfilment (WMS) environments in both permanent and consultancy roles.From working with customers and 3rd parties globally (India, Hong Kong, USA and Europe), I believe building relationships can be easily overlooked but they are crucial to the successful delivery of a project with the support and input of all stakeholders. Engagement and collaboration via workshops, video conferencing or even a chat over a coffee all help to gain commitment to the business case, resulting in a seamless transition from project to Business As Usual (BAU).I have led and mentored project management teams and am proud to have played a part in supporting my colleagues’ careers, personal development and, in some cases, promotions. I am a certified Prince2 Practitioner, including Prince2 Agile. Being adept at tailoring my approach to suit the situation, I use tried and tested methods such as road maps, critical paths, RACI, Kanban, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and not forgetting the Gantt chart.I enjoy being outside (preferably on my bike), meeting new people to share experiences, learning new ways of working and discussing films, football and F1.
