Lead Pre-Award Clinical Trial Financial Specialist for the Neuro Sciences and Sensory Clinical Trial Support Unit (CTSU) and the Special Projects Configuration Team (Medical School Office of Research Initiative that develops very large projects with Strategic Research Partners). I negotiate Clinical Trial and Clinical Research Contract Budgets for the University of Michigan Department of Neurology for clinical/drug/device trials of all phases (1-4 and hybrids). Provide support for all 15 Divisions in the Department of Pediatrics and Communicable Diseases. Preparation and review of grant submissions. Help to navigate documents and grant application through university electronic proposal management system. Conduct feasibility studies for potential industry-sponsored clinical trials to ensure study compensation covers full actual cost to run study. Provide analysis and support in the use of MBECT: clinical research budget, enrollment, and calendar tool. Provide at-desk MBECT support to coordinators and Principal Investigators when necessary. Create billing calendars for Principal Investigators who do not have their own research staff. Provide clinical research billing and enrollment compliance for coordinators from all divisions in the Department of Pediatrics. Meet with study teams and Principal Investigators as needed to discuss billing issues. Troubleshoot research-billing errors to ensure research charges and insurance charges are routed to the appropriate accounts. Follow billing/charge corrections through University of Michigan Health System (UMHS) from point of identification to charge-correction at Revenue Cycle, in a timely fashion. Develop procedural solutions to minimize or eliminate the reoccurrence of billing issues. Collaborate with units and departments during the investigation portion of billing issue resolution process. Use Bomgar software to remotely view and interact with other users desktops to identify problems and troubleshoot.

Trainer for UM Health System Billing & Compliance Software (MBECT)Ensure UMHS research departments and divisions are able to use the MBECT program for the creation of Billing Calendars, Enrollment and budgeting under tight deadlines. Provide training sessions and continuing education to all UMHS departments. Develop and lead weekly MBECT training workshops. Provide additional at-desk MBECT training as needed across UMHS. Staff MBECT helpdesk phone line and email. Train new staff on helpdesk procedures and common fixes for user reported problems. Respond to help requests and solve user problems in a timely fashion. Work with vendor to create and install fixes. Use JIRA tracking system to record issues and monitor customer service information. Create, update and maintain user manuals. Use Bomgar software to remotely view user desktops to identify problems and tailor training for specific individuals. Schedule and participate in weekly meetings with IT department and vendor. Schedule meetings and meet with UMHS departments to prepare users for MBECT software roll out. Maintain contact with departments to monitor project status and to identify and remedy issues as quickly as possible. Attend and contribute to staff meetings, Clinical Research Billing System meetings, vendor-status-call meetings. Develop meeting-minutes and agendas when required. Schedule telephone conference calls and Go-To Meetings. Work with Med-School Information Systems (MSIS) to ensure program has sufficient resources for training. Work with MSIS and Michigan Central Information Technology (MCIT) to make sure new users have proper plug-ins installed on MCIT core imaged computers to allow access to MBECT.
