After completing work on the prior FDOT project, I began assisting with a study on an XCPC, a parabolic solar thermal collector. My work entailed creating a Python GUI, Arduino code, and electrical system for data collection during testing. Work then began on looking at the feasibility of using thermoelectric means to generate electricity from the system. Over my internship I worked with Ford Motor Company's Systems Engineering Optimization group to optimize a current mass-produced part on a vehicle in the market. The changes proposed were sent to the supplier for testing and possible changes to the next Model Year. These changes were made with the use of NASTRAN and OPTISTRUCT in topological optimization studies.

This project was a FDOT sponsored project with the Renewable Energy Conversion Laboratory to implement a glow-in-the-dark sidewalk pilot project. My responsibilities include designing, installing, and maintaining a data acquisition system to record data over the course of a year and a half.

Huntsville, Alabama Area

During this internship I worked in the Analysis department of the Defense Business Unit working with engineers to create internal tooling using python programming. The results of my work on that project was finding sources of errors assisted the engineers in their future work. In addition to this, I ran analyses on a insulation requirements for a hypersonic motor design and reported my results to the designers.
