My name is Collin Keith and I'm a Graphic Designer. I started my design career unofficially as a game tester in 2009. It was a paid internship at PlaySpan that sounded interesting due to my personal interest in online gaming. After a week I was helping the marketing department with web graphics, and after two weeks my career as a game tester was over. Once my boss saw what I could do as a designer, I was hired on part-time after the internship ended.In 2013, I decided to move to San Francisco and found a job at NinthDecimal. Here I finally felt like I had found a home. Working with my good friend and boss Liam Beesley every day was something I could look forward to. Projects included helping the company rebrand from JiWire to NinthDecimal, trade show graphics, marketing materials, and frequent updates the website visuals. However, the bulk of my work was creating mock ads for sales pitches. Using whatever I could find online, I'd mock up an ad campaign featuring the client in question using our location-based targeted ad platform. If they signed on and needed more design assistance, I was there to help create the real thing.Seeking out something a little different to supplement my income, I found a design job at Texture (then NextIssue Media). Working under the wonderful Brian Marabello and Samantha Argos, I assisted in the company rebrand, helped redesign the corporate website, and mocked up UI/UX changes for the tablet/mobile app. The majority of my work was creating the curated emails of the most interesting news stories users could find in our app. These were sent out to 250K+ subscribers every day.Working with Julie Eriksen at JAPONESQUE was a new and exciting foray into package design that I am so glad I took a chance on. Working closely with the Product Development team, I was able to learn new skills and test them daily. While most of my previous experience was purely digital, it was fantastic to get to work with print as well as see how new products are developed. Getting hands-on experience with the whole process from conception to production was truly invaluable.
