Building on prior years' research, the team and I designed an extensively modular biped with a focus on improving the fluidity of motion between gait stages.TigerBot VII implements a number of cutting-edge biomechanic designs, including a zero-point 3 degree of freedom hip joint and a custom cardan ankle joint driven by tendon-like drivetrains. Overall, the system comprises over 200 custom-machined parts, of which I designed the vast majority.My responsibilities on the included leading mechatronic and system design, electromechanical and ROS integration, structural and transmission engineering, performing kinematic simulations, and extensive modeling work. -
