During the Spring 2015 semester I was an intern at Young Guns Publishing where I assisted with day to day publishing tasks ranging from catalog organization, uploading songs to Songspace.com for our writers, and helping with label pitches. For my final project at Young Guns, I personally made a six song pitch for Warner Brothers Music, and one of those six songs was placed on hold. In the Fall of 2015 I interned with Sirius XM on "The Highway" where I assisted with artist prep and research, social media updates, audience liaison through phone and in person, as well as editing and working with a live sound board.I began my musical career playing in middle and high school bands and prior to entering Middle Tennessee State University I was awarded the honor of composing a new Alma Mater for my high school during my Senior year. Since high school I have expanded my musical background and knowledge of the music business. Courses I have taken during my time at university include Publishing Administration, Contracts and Legal Issues, and Copyright Law. My Publishing Administration class provided me with hands on experience where I learned how to make white sheets, plan a demo session, perform a demo session breakdown, and break down royalty statements to be paid to the appropriate recipient. In addition to my studies, I have also gained customer service knowledge such as managing sales of products and services, business planning, and product marketing in my part-time positions during school and a two year job as a business to business sales representative.
