I consider my career to have started in the computer lab of Bonney Lake High School, where I was fortunate to have had a teacher who went above and beyond to introduce her students to the world of computer science, most notably regularly taking the time to prepare and shuttle teams formed in her classroom to local programming competitions. You rock Ms. Thissen! After high school, I attended DigiPen Institute of Technology in pursuit of a B.S. in Computer Engineering, supporting myself on the way by taking every odd-job I could get that flexed my fledgling engineering prowess. Sometimes I succeeded magnificently, other times I failed horribly. I rode the highs and pushed through the lows. I never stopped growing. In the penultimate Fall semester of my college education, I broke into the professional scene for the first time, scoring a full-time engineering internship with Echodyne, a local radar startup (at the time, at least). After my internship had ended the following January, I was invited back on a part-time contract that allowed me to continue working with Echodyne until I had finished my degree. Shortly after doing so, I was hired as a full-time Software Engineer. At Echodyne, my contributions set the footholds enabling my rapid climb of the career ladder. Today, I find myself in a position where its impact is as high as its challenge. Every day brings new problems to solve that come with new skills to learn and improve upon.Looking back at where I have been, I am proud of where I am now, and it's all uphill from here!
