Recording- Handled numerous sessions as recording engineer and sole client- facing studio representative.- Mic’d a wide variety of instruments; including drums, cajóns, congas, electric and acoustic guitars, basses, violins, cellos, a grand piano, keyboards, trumpets, trombones, and many others.- Worked with large groups and live tracked up to 40 channels simultaneously.- Communicated directly with clients in advance of their sessions to iron out session specifics (instruments used, musicians, desired mics, etc.)- Prepped sessions to be sent to head engineer for mixing and mastering.- Used advanced post production software to clean up audio from out- of-house mix projects.Electrical & Technical- Designed (CAD) and built the one-of-one desk/console now used in the main live room to the custom constraints set in collaboration with the head engineer and owner.- Reorganized and rewired the entirety of the live room and control room upon completion of the studio’s new custom desk/console.- Aided head engineer in calibration of new equipment, I/O setup, and PT template creation.- Converted DL cable from the studio’s old SSL setup into XLR snakes to be used with the new desk/console.- Assembled DIY kit analogue equipment used in recording desk/ console.- Sourced raw cable and connectors to then construct XLR and 1/4” instrument, mic, and speaker cable while brining the studio’s cable inventory up to specifications.- Oversaw file management for individual audio recording sessions and all in-house video productions.Other- Headed an off-site production crew to capture live audio and video for Writer’s Block events at Hotel Cafe.- Created and/or maintained studio inventories (e.g. cables, stands, mics, etc.)- Updated internal procedural documents to streamline studio upkeep and adhere to equipment maintenance goals set by owner.
