Graduating in May 2019 with a Bachelor's Degree in chemical engineering

Part-time position investigating the origin of a chemicals of increasing concern to the public health in New York State aquifers. Researching the historical uses of this chemical, the processes which synthesize it as a byproduct, remediation/removal efforts, and testing products for its presence and concentration.

Examined multiple stages in the scrap processing and subsequent bulk melting and productionof titanium alloy ingots, with the goals of improving process efficiency and product quality. Duties included statistical analyses of ingot metallic chemistry data, measuring feedstock carbon levels, image detection system evaluation, procedure enforcement, and risk mitigation activities.

Supported engineers and chemists in developing and optimizing a polymerization process ona laboratory scale, as a plant was being built for mass production of the polymer product in Saudi Arabia. Performed solubility, particle size, slurry density, and viscosity experiments and documented work in technical reports. Designed a chemical delivery system to assure hygroscopic reagent was not exposed to atmosphere.

Supporting RED-Rochester's project manager with numerous aspects of several company projects. Primarily, I worked on RED's Boiler Maximum Achievable Control Technology and 260 PSI to 70 PSI steamline conversion projects. BMACT is a multi-million dollar project spanning several years in which Eastman Business Park's coal-fueled power plant is to be converted to natural gas power through the construction of two building to house four new NG boilers, the conversion of an existing coal-powered boiler, and the retrofitting of existing piping, pumps and other infrastructure. The steamline conversion project involved the addition of new valves, lines of pipe, and controls in the eastern side of the park to reroute the 260 psi steam to pass through an existing turbine generator, rather than a pressure-reduction valve to achieve 70 psi.steam. This harnessed energy that was previously being lost. My duties for these projects involved attending progress meeting, being available as a point of contact for contractors, finding and providing drawings, performing heat-loss analysis calculations, among others.

A full-time summer job mowing and trimming the grass at the Darien Lake theme park, campground, and hotel.

A part-time position working the cash register and stocking shelves at a mini-mart in the RIT dorms.
