My present responsibilities include:Leading instrument maintenance team (1 DCS & 1 analyzer technician and 1 supervisor with 3 artisans). Define & optimize maintenance strategies.Ensure maintenance targets (Preventative Maintenance Rate, % of scheduled tasks executed, Overtime, Downtime & callouts etc. – focusing on production stability & cost control) are met & shortcomings addressed accordingly.Set team KPIs (focused on; budget compliance & production stability) as well as support the team to achieve our goals.Continuous improvement of the Instrument service.Root cause failure analysis and closeout.Compile and manage annual budget.Adherence to legal compliance.Deployment of and compliance with Mondi Technical Standards. Manage SAP maintenance system and compliance to business processes.Short and midterm planning, as well as annual shut planning. Manage shutdowns and instrumentation projects related to my business unit. Maintain & update equipment long term plan (obsolescence plan, technology advancements) and risk register.Provide shut post mortem reports then plan & execute shortcomings.Responsible for safety, health and environmental issues, including occasional incident Investigations & corrective actions.Familiar with OHSAct.Personnel assessment & development of my team.Broad instrument experience in the following areas: Process control, quality & environmental analyzers, in-depth DCS knowledge, PLC basics, actuators, transmitters, radio –active isotopes, Profibus (I am a certified Profibus Engineer), OPC and other bus communication systems/technologies.Responsible to maintain advanced control applications.Computer literacy including SAP, Excel, MS excel, Projects (basic) and others I am a member of Mondi Group/International Functional Safety team and Mondi South Africa technical standards committee member.
