I am a former free-lance print journalist and have worked with The Irish Examiner, Hot Press, The Sunday Tribune and Melody Maker among numerous others. I have worked as a broadcaster and presenter, as a free-lance director and programme maker and as a road and tour manager with numerous musicians and live performers.I currently commission content for television and on-line in the areas of History, Natural History, Wildlife, Diversity, Sport, Music and Education.I also work as RTÉ's Interim Group Head of Factual Content. This umbrella brief covers Specialist Factual, Documentaries and Documentary Series, Popular Factual, Religion, RTÉ's in-house Documentary unit, RTÉ Radio's Doc on One and RTÉ Cork. I led RTÉ's coverage of the Decade of Centenaries since 2016, a period that culminated in the broadcast of the 'Ireland 100: An Old Song Resung' project, produced by South Wind Blows, and recorded in the RDS in October, 2023.
